Codes

If you intend to use eDenari to manage your fund raising activities it is important that you understand it's three basic codes. They are important on the gift/pledge entry side and you will need to know how they work when running reports later. eDenari can start you out with a basic set of codes but you may want to use other codes or add to the list. Click the link below to learn more about a specific code.

Fund Codes: A Fund Code is the project or function for which you are raising money. You could, for example, build a new facility and need to raise funds specifically for that. You probably have something like a General Fund that you use to pay the rent and utilities so you'll need a code for that. When you apply the fund code to gifts and pledges as they are entered, you'll be able to produce a report later showing your progress in each category.

Appeal Codes: Appeal Codes track your fund raising efforts. You can create a code to represent each event or function including the web page. Add gifts or pledges to your data with the appropriate appeal code so that you can later produce reports showing your fund raising success. Analyze your fund raising efforts to learn what works and what doesn't.

Campaign Codes: Campaign Codes group appeal codes together. Since Appeal Codes track individual fund raising efforts, Campaigns track groups of fund raising efforts. For example, you could set up a Campaign Code to track all of the fund raising toward your new facility. You might have a fund raising banquet, and auction, a golf tournament, etc. Each of those will have their own Appeal Code. However, by linking them to the Campaign Code you can report on the Campaign to see all of the fund raising for all of your events.
