The term 'Letters' really refers to the Letter Body portion of
Thank You Receipts,
End of Year Tax Statements, and
Pledge Statements. In all three, the top portion of the default layout contains the donor's name and address fields, the Salutation, and then the
Letter Body. Below that you will find the gift or pledge information. The Letter Body portion is your opportunity to speak to your donor. You could then set up a letter body that is specific to this year when sending Tax Statements at the end of the year. You can use a different letter body for this month's pledge statements. And, you can use a different letter body for each type of gift or simply a different letter for each month for Thank You Receipts.
To set up your letters, click on the Codes tab at the top of the page and scroll down to the Letters section.
Here you see a list of the letter previously created. Click Edit to modify one of the existing letters or Click 'Add New Letter Code' to create a new letter body.

Description
Tells you what this letter is about. For example, this could be the 'January Thank You Receipt Letter'.

Code
This field is primarily for eDenari. It identifies this letter record as being different from other letter records. However, it can also be used by you to help categorize your letters. For example, you could start all of your Thank You Receipt letter bodies with the letters 'THX'. You could use 'THX_JAN', 'THX_FEB', etc.

Active?
Once you no longer want to use this letter body you can uncheck the box to take it off of the available drop down selection lists.

Letter Body
Type your letter body here. You can use the button bar at the top to format the text. You can add links, insert images, change the font size and family, and more. It works in much the same way as a Word document.

Submit
Click Submit to Save the document
Your letter body will now appear in the drop down selection fields in Gift Records, End of Year Tax Statements, and Pledge Statements.
