Thank You Receipts

A Thank You Receipt is both a tax document for your donor as well as an opportunity for you to thank the donor and build a lasting relationship with them. It consists of a Letter Body that you can create and a section that details the gift information, the things they will need for tax purposes.

 

When a gift record is created you can select the letter body that you want for that gift. If the gift is created through your Donation Page you will have selected the letter body when you initially set up the Giving Option. When eDenari creates the gift record it will use that letter. This gives you the ability to use different letters with different types of gifts. For example, you could have a letter for gifts that go to your general fund, a different letter for donations made through a special event, etc. Each letter body can speak to the specifics of the gift.

 

You can send Thank You Receipts in one of two ways. First, select the donor by clicking the Donors tab at the top of the page then select the donor you want and then click Edit.

 

 

In the Gift History section you will see a Receipt button on the right. Click that button to send an emailed receipt to the email address in that donor's name record.

 

The second option is to click the Edit button in the Gift History section and then click the Send Receipt button at the top of the gift record. Both methods will send the emailed receipt.

 

eDenari starts you off with a default receipt layout shown below. 

 

However, you can modify this layout if needed. Click on the Codes tab at the top of the page and scroll down to the letters section.

 

 

Here you will find the Edit Receipt Layout button. Click that to make changes to your Thank You Receipt template or start from scratch if you'd like. The page allows you to send a test email to see what your changes will look like and restore back to the default layout if you don't like the results.
